NotesFor Explorer members aged 18 and over, since 4 May 2026 every eligible earning activity, such as an eligible flight or a hotel booking, car rental or purchase with a Flying Blue partner, extends the whole Miles balance by 24 months. After each Flying Blue Family transfer, all Family Miles are valid for two years. Flying Blue does not list redeeming Miles as extending them. In the German market, the validity period is three years plus the rest of the calendar year instead of 24 months.
