Is this match worth making?
Marriott Platinum Elite is granted Choice Platinum, the higher of the two tiers Choice matches into, and there is no stay requirement attached to receiving it. There is no fee either. As matches go this is about as close to free as the category gets, provided Choice brands are somewhere you actually stay.
Above Platinum sits Diamond, and Choice publishes a specific route to it: one night at a Cambria Hotel can qualify you. If you are going to stay at a Choice property at all, making that first night a Cambria is the obvious play.
The process is manual. Rather than a web form, you email a screenshot, membership card, or recent statement showing your Marriott tier to the regional status-match address. We could not confirm a processing time, because Choice does not publish one in the terms we read, so do not count on a fast turnaround ahead of a booked trip.
